What's New at Zinnia Folk Arts?
This year we are expanding our Day of the Dead events to include a community ofrenda. You can participate by bringing or sending us a photo of a deceased loved one (or pet!) to be included in the evolving ofrenda. We'll start putting the frame together the week of October 15, then on Saturday, October 26 you (and your kids or family) can participate by making paper flowers (FREE) or terracotta "skulls" ($5 each) to be used to decorate the ofrenda. You can pick them after the holiday to be used again next year.
THE ACAPULCO CHAIR!
We are so happy to announce that we are now carrying the beautiful and iconic Acapulco Chair. They can go inside or out and add color and style to your home. Stop by the shop to sit in one and see how comfortable it is! The adult size is $385 and can be ordered in black, white, orange, turquoise, light blue, green, red, yellow, pink and grey. Also available in child's size ($230). The base is made of steel and the seat is vinyl so sitting outside is not a problema. These are cool.
Heron Martinez Mendoza was an amazing potter from Acatlan, Mexico. Check out this wonderful website devoted to his work and the collectors' pieces of folk art.
My story of finding this piece in Rogers, Minnesota is now on the website!
