"So many things are sold out!" Yes, they are! We closed our brick and mortar store at the end of May, 2022 and during the process sold almost ALL of our merchandise. It's been a slow process to obtain more quality folk art for several reasons.
One of the multiple reasons is that there's a world-wide pandemic going on and the implications of that have affected Mexico and the making of Mexican folk art. I returned for the first time in almost 3 years in late July. When I arrived, I discovered that many things have changed in Mexico--artisans died, artisans have gone out of business, folk artists have moved to places that I couldn't find and some folk artists left the folk art business completely. The talavera order I made in early June would not be ready until September.
Many of the sold out items you see on the website are pieces we had many years ago, from regions I haven't visited in over 3 years (Michoacán, for example). I have put them on the website so you can sign up for "Notify Me When Available." If and when I return to those regions and if I'm able to purchase the same quality of merchandise I've had in the past, you will be notified.
