Collector's Kalamkari Hand Painted Large Silk Shawl From India

$ 185.00

This beauty is a hand painted silk scarf (or use it as a shawl--it's definitely big enough) from Kutch, India. Kalamkari is an ancient style of hand painting by using natural dyes. This particular piece caught my eye because I love both blue and red, especially together.  The flowi-ness and gorgeous color combination from the natural dyes, reeled me into the booth at the Santa Fe Market. This particular artisan is well known for his fine art, sense of design, the use of color and the superb quality. The scarf is dyed on one side only. It is a stunner!

I purchased this at the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe from the artist himself

You will receive the piece in the photographs. They are one-of-a-kind.
