This modern take on traditional Mayan designs was something new to me on my last trip to Chiapas. This square pillow was woven on a floor or pedal loom in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. I think the field of white makes the pillow look a little more contemporary than the traditional backstrap loom weavings. The designs were woven into the weft but on a floor loom--not an easy task! This weaving was made into a pillowcase with an envelope and tie closure in the back. It is a beautiful accent piece for your home or as a gorgeous gift for someone you know. Pillow form is not included. Envelope closure in back. It looks great with other pillows!
