These are lovely lightweight blouses handwoven, then embroidered in Venustiano Carranza, Chiapas, Mexico. The embroidery is a combination of various summery colors on a very lightweight cotton fabric. It is 100% cotton. It is woven on a backstrap loom, and thus the shape is somewhat square. Falls beautifully from the shoulder due to the drapey-ness of the fabric. Truly lovely on. The weavers from this city are known for using an additional weft so the weaving has a bit of 3-dimensional look to it. Perfect for those super hot summer days. Dark purpley-fuschia with multi-colored symbols.
