This gorgeous, beautifully shaped green on black pitcher was handmade in Michoacán, Mexico. The background is a dark black glaze on a terracotta and then decorated with the typical emerald green of Patamban. The artisan missed a few spots with the glaze, as shown in the photos. It's perfectly imperfect. It is likely glazed with lead based glaze so we recommend it only for display or decorative use. These are difficult to obtain in the United States because they are very fragile and come from a remote region of Michoacán.
