This beautiful pillow cover is a stunning weaving from Tenejapa, Chiapas, Mexico. I saw this particular pillow in one of the weaving coops on the first day I was in San Cristobal de las Casas and did not buy it. But I found myself thinking about it the whole trip and finally on the last day, I decided to follow my own advice to always buy folk art that sticks in your memory. It may never be found again. This one is a little like a sampler with all of the different symbols and design elements. It really grabbed my eye because of the atypical use of color (lavender?) and the interwoven Mayan symbols. This is gorgeous and unique pillow cover. This one took 35 days to make. Comes without the pillow insert. Envelope closure.
