The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These colorful, cut, painted and assembled tin roosters hail from Guanajuato, Mexico. They are a super traditional tin craft and I thought this was a particularly handsome bunch of roosters. Most of them are shiny but there is one that is a little more matte color painted. They all stand very well on a charming tin base. All are brightly colored and will add a spot of cheer to any home!
