Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These tile mirrors are one of the more common examples of folk art made especially well in the state of Guanajuato. They are also made in various other locations around Mexico particularly Jalisco and Mexico City. I liked these because the tiles are lovely and are from one of the workshops I like in Dolores Hidalgo They vary in size--large, medium and small. They are especially pretty in entries or bathrooms but you really can put them wherever you need an interesting mirror!
