This small and very beautiful female turkey is by Victor and Jesusita Xuana of San Martin Tilcajete, Oaxaca. If you are familiar with the Xuana pieces, they are exceptionally well done both in the carving and the painting. This small black and gray turkey with white dots and gold trimming is a gorgeous example of how small the dot painting of the Xuanas can get. The dots and sophisticated color choices on the body painting are signature style of the this very collectible family.
