These well-crafted papier-mâché skulls, or calaveras, were made in a very fine papier-mâché workshop in Mexico City. The smooth papier-mâché work and careful painting makes them a lovely addition to your Day of the Dead ofrenda or altar, or a charming sculpture for any time of the year. Such brightly painted skulls, often decorated with glitter, can typically be found on the ofrendas of many people in Central Mexico.
