These large, multi-colored tissue paper flags are found throughout Mexico on special occasions draped over the streets to announce the upcoming, existing or past fiesta. Papel picado means "picked paper" because it is traditionally chiseled while stacked in large pile...then each flag is individually strung on string to make a banner of flags. Very colorful, very festive and very Mexican!
One package includes five strings of 10 flags and the package is $15.00. Photos show one package.
Motifs are birds, butterflies, flowers.
