These rectangular, lumbar pillows were woven on a backstrap loom in the highlands of Chiapas by a member of the women's cooperative, Camino de los Altos. This is one of the many women's coops that helps the weavers get their products to market. Camino de los Altos is unique in that they work with French designers to create color combinations that they believe will be more marketable around the world. These pillows combine a very pale gray, with wider stripes of marine blue, navy and a bit of color down the center of the front, or a orange-red with navy. Really pretty.
After the piece is woven of cotton, it was made into a pillowcase with an envelope closure in back and two small braided ties. The seams are hand sewn. These are beautiful accent pieces in your home or as a gorgeous gift for someone you know...Pillow form is not included.
