What home could not use a handwoven table runner to decorate a table, display as a graphic wall hanging or to add color to the back of a couch? This 100% cotton table runner was woven on a backstrap loom in the highlands of Chiapas by a member of the women's cooperative from Magdalenas Aldama. This is one of the many women's coops that helps the weavers get their products to market. This particular table runner combines dark black Mayan symbols on a field of dark true red. I believe the black symbols represent the Mayan image of luck, frogs. Imagine weaving this on a a backstrap loom and keeping the edges straight; it's not for the faint-hearted.
This is a beautiful accent piece for your home or as a gorgeous gift for someone you know. One of a kind
