The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These beautiful diamond shaped, old-looking but new Mexican earrings are reminiscent of the filagree and bead earrings from Oaxaca but these were handmade in Taxco. The beads are lapiz blue colored and the ones in the center are stationary. The earrings have some movement because the beads at the bottom dangle freely. Filagree designs are hand swirled, so be sure to note the amazing symmetry and design perfection. The silver has been oxidized to look old but they are newly made in Taxco. Exquisite! Silver French wire.
