Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These handmade Mexican Talavera pitchers are from Dolores Hidalgo and made by one of our favorite workshops. Their Talavera is always lead-free. They are meant to be used and go with the patterns that we stock in our other ceramics. Has a nice strong handle that is not wimpy. Looks great as a water pitcher or holding flowers.
