Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

The shape of this Mexican Talavera bowl is known at the workshop as a "pozolero" because it can be used to serve pozole, that delicious soup that has everything in it. We offer these handsome bowls in two sizes. The small ones can be used for serving sides, eating pozole or other soups or as display. The larger size is nice for a small salad for two or three people or for using to display fruit on the counter.
Special order ceramics may take up to 3-4 months to ship. Please see our Special Orders page for up-to-date shipping times and costs.
