Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These medium, multi-colored, round handmade Mexican Talavera flower pots from Dolores Hidalgo are so cheerful filled with plants. The patterns are varied but most have a mixture of cobalt blue, orange, yellow and red so the patterns mix and match with other Talavera pieces extremely well. Every pot is unique and it will not be possible to get the exact pot in the photos. The photos are to give you an idea of the colors used.
