Ceramics from yesteryear
Consider giving a gift of high quality, Mexican handmade goods! Every piece is authentic and personally selected on our buying trips to Mexico.
Lots of unique, colorful paper products and decorations are made by Mexican artisans with skill and creativity.
Look here for placemats, napkins, table runners, tablecloths, huipiles and other textiles handmade in Mexico!
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.
These handmade, hand-painted "calabaza" bowls are talavera ceramics from Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico. They have a very nice shape, with ridges along the sides (like a "pumpkin") The large size, which we love, works well for a salad for 4-6 people. Or simply decorating your kitchen counter. The patterns are varied but all have a rim of cobalt blue, so they mix and match well with other talavera pieces in our collection. All of our ceramics are food safe and can go in the oven, microwave and dishwasher (although we recommend hand-washing).
Special order ceramics may take up to 3-4 months to ship. Please see our Special Orders page for up-to-date shipping times and costs.
