This long string of Mexican or Guatemalan wedding beads, made of nickel silver or alpaca (an alloy of copper) is entirely handmade. The beads are hollow and light with cut-out designs throughout, and strung together by thin open links made of finely twisted alpaca wire. It's very long and has no closure.
It's said that these are wrapped around bride & groom while exchanging vows. This one is the perfect length to wear long, or wrap twice (or even 3 times) around your neck.
These are shiny and new, recently purchased in Oaxaca, Mexico.
