The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

Last one of a group of colorful plastic encased church candles that I picked up in Mexico City. This one is orange and has the Virgin of Guadalupe on the front. "Dulce Madre de Tepeyac," means Sweet Mother of the Hilltop, referring to the hilltop where Juan Diego saw the vision of the Virgin.
