Zinacantán, a small town close to San Cristóbal de las Casas in the mountains of Chiapas, is home to some of the most beautiful textiles of Mexico. This gorgeous tunic was woven from traditional purple cotton thread. The warp also features the shiny warp threads in red, silver and blue. After it is woven, it is machine-embroidered in the most amazing floral designs. Each one is unique and all of them are especially beautiful. I handpicked them. Each one features the beautiful, large tassels that are used to tie the shawl around the shoulders. The tassels can be removed, Beautiful as a tunic or a wall hanging. This is typically worn by men in Zinacantan but it's small. The sides can be left open or tied with the long tassels. Embroidered on both sides. One of a kind.
