This is a beautiful and unique large wall mirror. The artisan has covered a stained wooden mirror frame with milagros. The edges are lined with gold paint. This is no easy task! The placement of the milagros is a skill that is acquired after much practice. These milagros have a gold sheen to them and are most likely latón or brass. These mirrors have a golden background on top of the stained wood, so they appear even softer and more lovely.
Milagros are small religious charms that people nail onto sacred objects, pin on the clothing of saint statues, or hang with ribbons or threads from altars and shrines. The word "milagro" means "miracle." People carry milagros for protection, good luck and to request help or thanks for problems of everyday living.
There are 5 mirrors and the full picture is first and the next picture is a closer detail of the top. For example, the first two photos show the first mirror with a sacred heart, photos 3 & 4 are mirror #2, photos 5, 6, 7 are #3 and shows the edge, photos 8&9 are mirror #4 and photos 10 & 11 are mirror #5. Mirror #5 is the only one with a Guadalupe at the top, all others have sacred hearts of various styles. Please let us know in the notes if you have a preference!
The last 5 mirror photos are no longer available. They are simply to show what the mirror looks like on the wall and the excellence of the work.
Best way to detect color is on the side shots of mirror. It's hard to see the rim color when looking directly at mirror.
