These beautiful cut paper scenes for Day of the Dead would look beautiful framed in a white border. They come in a range of colors and the image is the same in all--the ofrenda table is surrounded by an angel on one side and a woman holding a candle on the other. Two skulls sit on the table of the ofrenda.

They are a riff on the paper flags found throughout Mexico on special occasions, draped over the streets to announce the upcoming, existing or past fiestas.

Papel picado means "picked paper" because it is traditionally chiseled while stacked in large pile...then each paper flag is individually strung on string to make a banner. Very colorful, very festive and very Mexican!  They are made of delicate tissue paper.
