Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

Decorated kites that are not meant to be flown but can easily hang on a wall in a child's room or use as party decorations for blustery, spring birthdays. These three glittered kites have lost their tails and hung intermittently in the shop on Bryant and 50th, especially in the spring. I love the glitter and the way they've faded over time. They are gently used but still lovely for the paper and folk art lover.
They are awkward and expensive to ship so it's a good idea is to pick them up in the Twin Cities!
