These handmade talavera cazuelas (handled bowls) from Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico, are one of our most popular items. We offer these beautifully painted and shaped cazuelas in a large size. A cazuela is commonly used in Mexico, in every state, to cook sauces and moles, often over an open flame. This one is not for that, but it is food safe and could be used in the oven or microwave. However, I prefer to think of it as a lovely bowl for salads and side dishes. Or, of course, as a decorative item in your home. The patterns are varied but most have a mixture of cobalt blue, orange, yellow and red, so the patterns mix and match with other talavera pieces extremely well.

All of our ceramics are food safe, lead free and can go in the dishwasher, oven or microwave, if appropriate. We recommend hand washing.

These bowls can be ordered in your preferred design on our Special Order Servingware page.
