The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

A very pretty, shiny sterling silver with a turquoise carved cone shape earring handmade in North Africa. This is a moderately heavy, silver earring, made by a Tuareg artisan from North Africa. The silver design has a slight patina, making the earring look older but they were recently made. The ear wire is long to make sure it stays in place. I purchased them at the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe. Truly lovely and easy to wear every day if you like just a dab of silver with a beautiful contrasting stone.
