Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These amazing beaded ornaments are pretty common in Southern Mexico and can be found in many markets all over the country. These group came from Chiapas and I'm not sure if they are made in Southern Mexico or actually created in Guatemala--does anyone know? I think they are very cute as Christmas ornaments or to decorate any little knob somewhere in the house.
Note: there are two with hair upswept by the tide and the rest have straight and manageable hairdos
