Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These beautiful handmade and hand-painted appetizer size plates are painted on a solid muted color and then decorated with dots in the traditional Capula designs. The color palette is what's new about this type of ceramic. Each one is painted individually in Capula, Michoacán. I purchased these from the maker at the Holy Week folk art festival in Uruapan. Lovely idea for a housewarming, wedding or anniversary gift. Super pretty and perfect for appetizers!
They are food-safe, lead-free and can go in the microwave or oven. We recommend hand washing. Fragile to ship.
