Hidalgo

One of the most recognizable types of Mexican folk art, found in many locations throughout Mexico, are Otomí embroidered textiles. The Otomí are an indigenous group originally from Hidalgo. Many people have moved away from Tenango de Doria, Hidalgo and now reside in various states all over Mexico. These beautiful handmade textiles are very well distributed throughout the country. Many people inaccurately believe that these textiles are from Oaxaca!
