Jalisco is the location of Mexico's second largest city, Guadalajara. Though there are many folk artists in the region, they are principally located in the cities of Tonalá and Tlaquepaque, not too far from the center of the Guadalajara. The ceramics of this region are immediately recognizable because of the red clay with white and green designs. Many tourist souvenirs of the 1940's-60's originate in this region.
