Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

I am a bag person, a big bag person and a picky bag person. I am always looking for casual handmade bags that will spice up a neutral outfit with jeans and I always love to make a statement about being handmade. So, these bags were made in Mexico by crocheting from the bottom. They are similar to the Wayuu bags from Columbia but are a little more rough in look. The colors are gorgeous and are pretty well reflected in the photos. The strap can be shortened by tying one side more tightly at the loop. Some of the ties are a little unraveled at the end but they can be tied off.
To wash: turn the bag inside out putting the strap and tassels inside. Wash in cold water. Hang to dry.
