Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

How do you like these bouncy, colorful palma balls? They are first dyed, then hand-woven into the cheerful ornaments you see here. Or do you need something to add to a bit of zip to a package? (Try tying 2-3 together with a ribbon and adding it to the bag or box). Or we use them as a "wreath" substitute in the shop--tie a ribbon around the top and hang for a cheerful dash of color on the door or on any wall. Colors vary from group to group but they are all multi-colored.
