These tiny clay sunny faces are made by various members of a family from Ocumicho, Michoacán.
They are an unusual twist on the whimsical and quirky clay pieces from Ocumicho which frequently feature devils doing activities of daily life. These sunny faces have a hole at the top through which you can slip some fishing line to hang on a tree or the wall. They would also look very sweet in a small frame, glued to a pale yellow background.
I purchased these at the Semana Santa folk art fair during Holy Week in Patzcuaro, Michoacán.
