Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

So sweet. These small, carved and painted Guadalupes were made in Guatemala. I purchased them in Chiapas, the Mexican state just across the border from Guatemala. Every one is unique but every one is beautiful. Choose a color group of the shroud around her head--allow us to choose from within that color group because some may be sold.
