Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

These little, pretty Mexican hearts are carved of wood, then painted in a variety of colors in Patzcuaro, Michoacán. The flame is tinged with gold paint. They do not have a hanger on the back but a little one can easily be added for hanging them on a wall or a tree. They would also look very pretty at a holiday place setting. Each is unique; please allow us to choose for you.
