Ceramics from yesteryear
The Virgen de Guadalupe, milagros, sacred hearts and images are all artistic motifs used in Mexican folk art in every state in Mexico.
The Christmas decorations of Mexico vary by region but are always colorful and festive whether made of tin, paper, wood, textiles or clay.
"Milagro"means "miracle" in Spanish. Milagros are religious charms that are prevalent throughout Mexico and are used to request or thank God for a miracle.

Unusual but beautiful use of beads of different colors and resin flowers to decorate iconic photos of Mary and Jesus. These rectangular images are attached to a long brown ribbon, like a scapular, which can be shortened by knotting to hang on the wall. Each one is one of a kind. Images of the Virgen de Guadalupe abound in Mexico and I am always looking for new interpretations of the folk arts that honor and revere her. Gorgeous and unique. From Mexico City.
