Zinacantán, a small town close to San Cristóbal de las Casas in the mountains of Chiapas, is home to some of the most beautiful textiles of Mexico. The small shawls, "chals" or "rebozos" are woven from traditional purple cotton thread. The warp also features the shiny warp threads in red, silver and blue. After it is woven, it is machine-embroidered in the most amazing floral designs. Each one is unique and all of them are especially beautiful.

Each chal features the beautiful, large tassels that are used to tie the shawl around the shoulders. These two tassels can be added to your own textiles, hung on chairs or doorknobs. Enjoy the interplay of the threads!
